Ira Sobel is the founder and CEO of fintech-olderadults.com, a platform and consulting firm bridging between innovation in ageing and financial institutions. As a researcher and speaker on the economic aspects of ageing, she investigates the relationship between health, retirement, and wealth, with a focus on innovation in addressing the older segment of the population. Sobel was formerly a senior manager at the KPMG accounting firm (1994-2001), a CFO at Onigma (acquired by McAfee) in 2006, and a board member of many publicly traded companies in Israel, including the Bank of Jerusalem (2013-2019).
Beside her background in accounting (CPA Israel), her education includes an Executive MBA from Northwestern University, an MA (summa cum laude) in Gender Studies, and a PhD on the social and economic aspects of ageing from the Department of Sociology at Tel-Aviv University.
