To build Greener Planet Mastercard develop a partnership with Bunq

Over 100,000 trees planted to date; Bunq plants a tree for every £100 / 100 Euros spent with Green Card.

Mastercard and Bunq disclose today the development of their partnership to stimulate the growth of bunq’s card offerings in Europe. To expand the Green Card into 30 European countries, Mastercard is leveraging its global network.

For every £100 spent Bunq builds a greener planet by planting a tree. November 2019 saw Introduction of The viable bunq Green Card. The make of Bunq card is in an environmentally friendly way.

The challenger bank had planted over 100,000 trees to date since the inauguration of the initiative four months ago. The Green Card drive contributes to the newly launched Priceless Planet Coalition. A platform to unite corporate sustainability attempts and make critical investments.

Bunq is one of the founding partners in this coalition, among other banks. The founder and CEO Ali Niknam says, “We are delighted to take our union with Mastercard to the next level. Together with our customers, we have settled a simple way for everyone to create a greener world with zero effort. We will further enlarge Green Card together throughout Europe.”Bunq and Mastercard’s union dates back to 2015 when the contender bank officially entered the market.

Since then, both the firm has brought numerous card offerings to the public. The union recently launched card offerings, including Green Card and Travel Card, which offers travelers the real exchange rate all around the world.

In the last two years, Mastercard is the partner for more than 60 digital banks and fintech in Europe. The partnership indicates Mastercard’s approach of closely working together with fintech partners from their initiation.
